The interim Canada Dental Benefit can provide an additional payment for some children who had dental costs that were more than $650 in one of the benefit periods. You would only meet the criteria for the additional payment if you are not applying for both benefit periods for that child. If you are eligible, your additional payment will be the same amount as your original dental benefit payment.

How your adjusted family net income is calculated
The CRA calculates your adjusted family net income (AFNI) based on your 2021 tax return. If you had a spouse or common-law partner, their 2021 tax information will be included in the calculation.
You do not need to calculate this number. If your AFNI was less than $90,000 in 2021, you should see the option to apply in your CRA My Account.
If you want to estimate your AFNI
For this benefit only, include your spouse or common-law partner's amounts if you were married or living common-law on December 1, 2022.
