COVID-19: Important updates
During the COVID-19 pandemic, clearance certificates may take longer to process.
The CRA mail operations are currently limited. Legal representatives should file new TX19 or GST352 clearance certificate requests electronically. If you sent a request by mail after March 12, 2020, you are encouraged to resubmit the request electronically.

You and your representatives can submit your request for a clearance certificate (TX19, GST352) online through My Account, Represent a Client, or My Business Account.
Step 5. After you apply
The CRA will send you an acknowledgement letter within 30 days of receiving your request for a clearance certificate.
The CRA’s assessment can take up to 120 days, assuming you provide all of the necessary documents. However, in certain situations, the CRA may need to do an audit before it issues the clearance certificate.
If you have not received your certificate or a clearance certificate officer has not contacted you within 120 days, contact enquiries at:
- For individual (T1), or trust (T3) accounts call 1-800-959-8281
- For corporations (T2) or GST/HST accounts call 1-800-959-5525
