Pop Up City Contest: Winners Moving on to Round 2
The Pop-up City: Integrated Energy, Water and Waste Management Systems for Deployed Camps Contest has awarded its $10,000 prize winners! See the list Round 1 prize recipients here! Thanks to all Canadian innovators who have applied to this first Contest. Round 2 integration partnering event will be held where Round 1 winners will present their solution to the Contestants in other technical domains. The Contestants will then have to create teams that will design their best solutions integrating all three elements of a deployed camp (energy, waste, and wastewater).
The Contest consists of four competitive rounds, each designed to support progress towards the development of a functioning and testable prototype integrated solution. Contestants will have the chance to be awarded more than $3.5 million during individual and group competitions.
Corrosion Detection in Ships Sandbox Application Period now Closed
The Corrosion Detection in Ships Sandbox call for applications is now closed. The Sandbox will test the best solutions to find corrosion trouble spots for the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). The next IDEaS sandbox will take place at the Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE) facility in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and will focus on corrosion detection on naval vessels. COVE is a collaborative facility for applied innovation in the ocean sector. Participants will get the opportunity to showcase their products on realistic simulations, with successful demonstrations resulting in access to an actual vessel to demonstrate their solution in a real world environment. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application by early April 2020.
