The relocation process - Delivery of household goods and effects, and final claims

At your new location

If your household goods and effects (HG&E) did not arrive on time:

  • You are entitled to interim living expenses until the moving company is
able to deliver your HG&E, but only under certain conditions and time limitations. Read CFIRP - chapter 5 and seek advice from your BGRS agent where required
  • You may require another advance of funds for additional time in the hotel until your HG&E are delivered. Read CFIRP - articles 5.01, 5.08, and 5.09

Within 45 days of arrival

Once your HG&E have been delivered, it's time to complete your final travel claim:

  • Upload all receipts and enter your claim even if you have some receipts coming in later
  • You may complete an additional claim later for your sundries (driver's license, plates, registration, safety, change of address, etc.) Read CFIRP -  section 9.4
