Congratulations on your appointment as Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan). On behalf of the department, I am pleased to welcome you and look forward to supporting you in your new role. Our headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta, is in Canada Place on Jasper Avenue.

The Prairies, rich with natural resources, are crucial to building a new Canadian economy. PrairiesCan is a business-centric department with a mandate to support the growth and diversification of the Prairie economy and bring Prairie perspectives to Ottawa. Our staff across the Prairies have strong relationships with stakeholders in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

Our programs and services catalyze economic growth in the region. We are proud to help businesses grow, boost productivity, and achieve long-term success. This is particularly important when Canada is facing significant tariffs imposed by the U.S. and China, to which the Prairies are especially exposed.
