Platform commitment: Building one Canadian economy

  • Respond to existing U.S. tariffs on our economy while safeguarding Canadian industry from trade diversion.
  • Build an “All-in-Canada” network for auto manufacturing component parts.
  • Kickstart the clean energy supply chain by investing in critical minerals.

Implement the Regional Tariff Relief Initiative (RTRI) to assist SMEs impacted by tariffs.

Continue to support the development of zero-emission vehicles, value-added agriculture/food processing, and critical minerals sectors in the region.

 

Platform commitment: Advancing major nation-building projects

  • Advance major nation building projects like the Port of Churchill.
  • Build trade enabling infrastructure to diversify exports away from the United States, create new jobs, and build one Canadian economy.

Support development of the Port of Churchill, Canada’s only deepwater Arctic port connected to the national rail network.

 

Platform commitment: Black Entrepreneurship Program

  • Make the Black Entrepreneurship Program permanent and provide ongoing funding to support Black-owned businesses.

Deliver the Black Entrepreneurship Program with other RDAs and Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED).

 

Platform commitment: Artificial intelligence and quantum computing

  • Catalyze commercialization by expanding successful programs at Canada’s AI institutes (Mila, Vector, and Amii - which is in AB).
  • Secure the Canadian advantage in strategic industries like biomanufacturing, quantum computing, and ag-tech.

Continue to deliver Regional Artificial Intelligence Initiative - $33.8M over 5 years and Regional Quantum Initiative - $9.4M over 7 years

Continue to support Saskatchewan’s Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization - $30M over 3 years and Alberta’s Canadian Critical Drug Initiative - $80M over 5 years

 

Platform commitment: Housing

  • Build faster, smarter, sustainable, more affordable homes by providing over $25 billion in financing to use Canadian technologies, mass timber and softwood lumber.
