The following are instructions on how to complete "Step 1 – Identification and other information" of your tax return.
Incomplete or incorrect information may delay the processing of your tax return and any refund, credit, or benefit such as any GST/HST credit and Canada child benefit (CCB) payments you may be entitled to receive.

Additional identification information
Enter your name, social insurance number, and current address.
Enter your date of birth.
Indicate in which language you would prefer to deal with the CRA.
If the return is for a deceased person, enter the date of death in the area provided on page 1 of the return.
