Reporting abuse or misuse of the Temporary Foreign Worker program

Protecting the integrity of the Temporary Foreign Worker program

We strongly encourage Canadians, employers and temporary foreign workers to report any potential cases of abuse of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program to the Government of Canada. If you are aware that someone has been misusing the program, please let us know.

Employers that abuse or misuse the TFWP may face criminal sanctions including fines or imprisonment, or administrative consequences such as a suspension, revocation or a ban from access to the Program.

Service Canada has various control mechanisms such as a rigorous labour market impact assessment process, Employer Compliance Inspections, Reviews, and Ministerial Instructions to prevent, detect and deter misuse of the program.
