You can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and protect yourself and others by:
- getting your full primary series of COVID-19 vaccines and booster dose when eligible
- thinking about the risks before going out and making informed decisions
- following all public health advice for your region and the setting you’re in
In addition, layer multiple individual public health measures regardless of your vaccination status.
- Stay home when you’re sick.
- Follow your local public health authority’s instructions for COVID-19 quarantine or isolation.
- Improve indoor ventilation.
- Open doors or windows regularly to create a cross-breeze of fresh air.
- Take actions to ensure your heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system is properly installed, maintained and operational.
- Wear a well-constructed, well-fitting mask.
- Consider wearing a mask in shared spaces with people you don’t live with, especially indoors.
- Masks are strongly recommended in any crowded setting.
- Maximize your physical distance from those you don’t live with.
- Avoid or limit how much time you spend in closed spaces (with poor ventilation) and crowded places.
- Clean your hands regularly by:
- washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or
- using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol
- Cough and sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand.
- Throw used tissues in a plastic-lined waste container and clean your hands right away.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and objects with approved products.
- Follow all travel health advisories and all travel-related measures when preparing for and while travelling, including following:
- vaccination, testing and border requirements
- all public health measures during travel and while abroad
