Every dollar counts
There are many benefits, credits, and housing programs available. You can claim some of them when you do your taxes, but you may need to apply for others. Doing your taxes by April 30 each year, even if you have no income, helps you continue to get your benefit payments — and can help put more money back in your pocket. Find more information below, including free tools and resources to help you do your taxes.

Provides a tax-free monthly payment. As of July 2026, eligible families may get up to $8,157 per year for each child under 6 and up to $6,883 per year, for each child aged 6 to 17.
