Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the first series of projects being referred to the MPO for consideration. Together, these projects represent investments of more than $60 billion in our economy and will create thousands of well-paying jobs for Canadians.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the Indigenous Advisory Council membership for the new Major Projects Office. These leaders bring deep expertise and experience, and they will help guide the MPO’s work to ensure that major projects create opportunities for equity ownership and responsible resource management through meaningful participation with Indigenous Peoples.

Prime Minister Mark Carney launched the new Major Projects Office (MPO). The MPO’s mandate is to serve as a single point of contact to get nation-building projects built faster. It will do so in two principal ways. First, by streamlining and accelerating regulatory approval processes. Second, by helping to structure and coordinate financing of these projects as needed.
