The passing of Her Majesty the Queen marks the end of an era for not only Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Commonwealth, but also for most of the world. She was the planet's Elder Stateswoman and her opinion, counsel, and presence were valued far and wide, to everyone, monarchist or not. She will be sorely missed. It is as though the world lost it's Grandmother.

I was born in British Hong Kong, moved to Canada during a young age, the Queen has been in all my life, always a stable anchor to fall back to, an embodiment of kindness, courage, decency and duty. I will miss her dearly.
I grew up listening to my Scottish Grama talking about when she saw the Queen and about all she did for the world. In school, my class learned about her and everything morning, we would stand and face her picture and sing, God Save the Queen in school along with O’Canada. I have great respect for her grace, her respect all people, wisdom as a young Queen that evolved into a compassionate Leader with a great sense of humour, wisdom and poise. She will be missed for years to come!

My much missed mother was a true loyalist. We always had cake and fireworks on Victoria day. I seen the Queen as a child in Ottawa.
My dad had a college friend who was a RCMP Sgt at the gov gnrl house, so we got to see her majesty up close.
I am so saddened to lose one of the most anchor in time... just such a loss.
Only good thing is my mum gets to meet her Majesty.

RIP. in Uganda we still have queen Elizabeth national Park to remember her. She opened the Owen falls dam in 1954 and was lrincipal in granting Uganda independence in 1962.
In 2011, I was visiting England & I happened to be there when Prince William & Kate were getting married. I watched the ceremony on a giant screen in Hyde Park. There were hundreds of people. A memory that stands out clearly from that day was seeing how much the people loved Her Majesty. When it came time to sing God Save the Queen, every single person stood up, sang, & cheered loudly. It made me tear up. It was truly a magical thing to be a part of.

Your Majesty Queen Elizabeth II I wish you peace in your final journey . To her royal family I part with these words; Her Majesty is my Hero , My Military service was in honour of her Participation. As a woman also the Queen will remain my idol to be lived up to for a lifetime and beyond. Wishing her family my deepest condolences and God Save the King!
Deeply saddened to hear of Her Majesty the Queen's passing. In an age of turmoil, she remained a constant, stabilizing force in the lives of all Canadians. Long did she reign.

Queen Elizabeth was an figure known to most of not all, her death leaves a hole which will never be replaced. God save the queen.
Queen Elizabeth II will be missed. I will turn 68 years old next month, and she is the only British monarch I have known of until now. She has fulfilled her duty so graciously and well that it will be difficult to imagine anyone else in her role. RIP Your Majesty.
Her life was a great legacy to follow, she fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith. She did her duty for the country right up until her dying hours, and became an enduring, positive symbol of her realms all over the world. May The Lord reward her according to her righteous deeds and may The Lord rest her soul in Peace.

Queen Elizabeth is the only Monarch reigning throughout my life. She was an outstanding monarch & person, family oriented, good sense of humour, intelligent and so much more. She will greatly be missed.

Since I was a child, The Queen has always been a symbol of grace, duty, dignity and stability. Those are qualities that seem to be in short supply in the uncertain world in which we live today. Even though there was a realization that our Queen was 96, getting older and seemed very frail, it is still heart breaking. She has always been in my life, a steady force. To me, her lose, is a lose of connection to my parents generation. I will miss her.

As the son of a British citizen, I feel a personal sense of loss at this tragic turn of events. I am, however, glad that the Queen led a long and positive life.
