Service Standards: Employment Insurance (EI)

Service standards represent Employment and Social Development Canada's (ESDC) commitment to the level of performance that clients can expect to receive under normal circumstances.

Payment of Employment Insurance Benefits

Standard: Our goal is for EI benefit payments or non-benefit notifications to be issued within 28 days of filing.

Target: ESDC aims to meet this standard 80 percent of the time.

Performance Result: In 2015-2016, ESDC met this target 83.8 percent of the time.

Accuracy of Employment Insurance Payments

Standard: Our goal is for EI payments to be accurate.

Target: ESDC aims to meet this standard 95 percent of the time.

Performance Result: In 2015-2016, ESDC met this target 93.9 percent of the time.

Access to an Employment Insurance Call Centre Agent

Standard: Our goal is for EI calls to be answered by an agent within 10 minutes.

Target: ESDC aims to meet this standard 80 percent of the time.

Performance Result: In 2015-2016, ESDC met this target 37 percent of the time.

Employment Insurance Requests for Reconsideration

Standard: Our goal is for EI request for reconsideration decisions to be finalized within 30 days of the request being received.

Target: ESDC aims to meet this standard 70 percent of the time.

Performance Result: In 2015-2016, ESDC met this target 56.1 percent of the time.
