If you’re directly affected by the floods in British Columbia (B.C.), you may be able to get free
- replacement of documents that are lost, damaged, destroyed or inaccessible due to the floods
- urgent processing and a refund if you already applied to replace a document or extend your status
- change, extension or restoration of your status as a student, worker or visitor, including
- pausing your studies if your school is in the flood area
- changing your employer if your workplace is affected by the floods

Replace your document

- as described in the conditions of your expiring document, and
- until we make a decision on your application
If you submitted an application to change the conditions on your work permit on or before November 14, 2021: There aren’t any special measures for your situation

Due to COVID-19, you may not need to wait until we approve your work permit to start your new job or work for a new employer.

You may pause your studies or progress toward a degree, diploma or certificate if your designated learning institute (DLI) (opens in a new tab) , is in the flood area.
