Narrator: The Thuot-Fortins don't worry about the back-to-school rush because they like planning ahead, especially with meals!

Flashback: The family shops in the fruits and vegetables section of a grocery store. The young son pushes the shopping cart.

Saskia Thuot, opening a plastic bag: I'll take the tomatoes.

Pierre-Alexandre Fortin and Saskia Thuot face the camera.

Pierre-Alexandre: We try to go grocery shopping as a family as much as possible, so the kids feel more involved, and we help them make healthy choices.

The kids put a bag of onions and a carton of eggs in the cart. Saskia touches and smells the tomatoes.

Saskia Thuot: And being in a hurry isn't an excuse. Sometimes, we go with pre-cut veggies and fruits to save time. Carrots?

Son: Yeah!

Saskia places carrots, zucchinis, and cucumbers in the cart.

Pierre-Alexandre: We try to watch the salt and sugar. You have to be careful.

Pierre-Alexandre reads the ingredients on a can of tomatoes. The kids put a loaf of bread and a carton of milk in the cart.

Saskia Thuot: That's good. Bread. I tend to buy extra when I'm shopping, so we always have enough for lunches and snacks. And we never waste anything. Right, Pierre?

Pierre-Alexandre: Right!

They both smile brightly.

In the kitchen, the family joyfully plays a game of dice.
